Jawline correction and augmentation

jawline

Jawline is a very important part of one’s face. It can make a huge impact one’s overall appearance and pictures, especially the profile view ones. A well-defined jawline slowly changes with age. Due to aging, the jawline weakens. This is caused by volume loss. This is a result of a natural decrease in muscle and bone mass. The first signs become visible around your 30th. With some, there is even visible aging before being 30 years old.

If you have always felt your jawline is weak looking’ and envied other’s stronger jawlines, injectables could be an option to get you the jawline you want.

For the first time in a long time, you can feel great about yourself, especially if you’ve tended to fear the camera or side-on profile photographs!

Q. What are Jawline Fillers?

Fillers are different types of injectable substances that are used to add volume to the face. For example, one of the injectable filler substances is an approved temporary-filler-solution. This substance draws water to itself and holds it in the tissues, thus adding volume to the face. It’s actually a natural substance found in the skin, too.

Injecting fillers can take 5- 10 years off the way you look!

Before the treatment

Prior to the treatment, you will always get a consultation. Dr. Amanjot will take pictures of you and help you understand what can be done to further enhance the appearance of your jawline and add volume to the jawline. She will discuss with you where best to inject the filler for the ideal outcome for you. And then decide upon the type of fillers required and the costs involved. The procedure can be done on the same day as that of the consultation. Usually, we inject the tip of the chin and angle of the jaw and at deficient areas of the jawline to create a more defined appearance for the jawline. For patients, with jowl or sagging skin additional help of mid face fillers or thread lift may be advised to lift the sagging skin tissue.

During the treatment

After cleansing your face, a topical anesthetic is applied to minimize the discomfort of injections. After 30-45 minutes of application of numbing cream, the injection process begins.

Fillers are injected with the most fine needles available in medical field in order to make the process as comfortable as possible for the patient. There may be redness or slight bruising in the area that was injected.

Post-procedure, a detailed account of do’s and don’t’s is given to the patient.

Q. Why choose dermal fillers for a better jaw line?

It is good idea to choose dermal fillers because of the ease of the process, no downtime/surgery involved and the results are almost instantaneous. Dermal fillers can help you achieve:

  • a balanced out appearance of upper and lower face
  • improved  front-on and profile appearance in pictures
  • a much younger looking face.

Q. Are there any precautions to be taken before the procedure?

Before the treatment, you need to avoid using aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications or high doses of Vitamin E supplements. It’s very important to discuss with your Doctor about your allergies or if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, so that he may prescribe a medication to minimize recurrence.
